The journey began with renting out vans. It was enjoyable work for the most part, but the paperwork, keeping track of the fleet’s condition, and managing customers over the phone were nerve-wracking. We wanted an easier way—and we found it by fully digitizing the entire rental process.

 
 
 
How it all started…

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, model year 2002

I enjoyed renting out cars. It wasn’t exactly a goldmine of a business, but it was enough to make a living.

But the constant phone calls started getting to me. Sometimes it would take 6–8 calls just to rent out a single car. If I missed a call, that was a missed rental.

I wasn’t the only one frustrated; customers were annoyed with all the calling too. They didn’t need a chat buddy; they just needed the car and rental details.

I thought, there has to be a way to handle this without being glued to the phone all the time. I mentioned it to a friend, and he said, “Well, let’s code an app for that.” So, we did.

The app turned out a bit too good. Suddenly, I had spare time as a business owner. I used that time to make the app even better: we added everything from fleet management to contracts and more, all into one system.

Then, other rental operators started showing interest, of course. We thought, why not rent out the app instead of the cars?

Turns out, that was a pretty good idea.
